The Spark That Started It All

The idea was born in London. While staying at the iconic Savoy Hotel, I experienced bedding so exceptionally soft, crisp, and luxurious that it completely transformed how I thought about sleep. That single night made me realise the profound difference truly great bed linen can make to daily life.

Returning to New Zealand, I began my search for something similar, only to be disappointed. Most luxury options either compromised on ethics or used conventional cotton with concerning environmental and social impacts. As someone who studied Fashion and had always been passionate about responsible textiles, I knew there was a better way.

When I started thinking about growing my own family, the motivation became deeply personal. The discovery that many everyday sheets contained harmful chemicals and pesticides was alarming. I wanted to create organic luxury bed linens that were not only beautiful but genuinely safe for sleeping.

Building a Better Way

In 2022, after months of research, sourcing trips, and countless conversations with suppliers, House of March was officially launched. The goal was clear: to become New Zealand’s leading brand for ethical bedding, one that combined European design with complete integrity.

We made several non-negotiable decisions from day one:
